In the Garden of Eden we see that there is one thing that changed, causing all else in the world to change. That one change was sin. When sin entered this world the perfect, \u201cvery good\u201d creation that God had just completed shifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is good news because when we accept the truth of this we are able to accept that truth that we have a way to move beyond sin, slavery to sin, and death because Jesus provided this way for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we study sin we do not do it to feel bad about ourselves. We are prone to sin, this is simply how we experience this world. If we take the focus off of ourselves, recognizing that sin is simply a fact in this world, and put our attention on the solution to our sin we begin to make progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John 3:15 ESV \u201cFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, this is a familiar passage but it is familiar because it is so essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The only way to have eternal life with God is to be freed completely and totally from the sin that leads to death. Jesus accomplished this for us on the cross and through His resurrection. He showed us the way. We do not find freedom from sin by avoiding it or acting like it is not there. We find freedom from sin by facing it, just as Jesus faced sin and death on our behalf, and moving through it to the other side where there is freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over the next 40 days, join me on this journey focusing, not on our own sin and depravity but on the amazing gift of freedom offered by Jesus simply by believing in Him and what He has done for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is powerful, it is not judgmental. Come join Me on this journey to learn more and experience freedom in ways you never have before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 5:18-21 \u201cTherefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For as by the one man\u2019s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man\u2019s obedience the many will be made righteous. Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n These verses speak to exactly what was in the introduction to this 40 day study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is so much meat in these verses and it is helpful to read the verses above it from verse 12 to get even more context but this summarizes the concept for today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was necessary for Me to allow sin to enter into the world. Why? Because if sin was not a choice then you would not be children of God, you would be slaves or robots. Let Me explain more. If I created the world and it was perfect and yet there was no choice then it would not have been perfect because love could not have been expressed and received or rejected. What do I mean by this? If someone loves you and you have no choice to either receive or reject that love than you are a slave or robot to that person\u2019s love. It is not because you want to be loved by them that you are loved by them, it is because you have no other choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is not love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I had to allow sin to enter the world so that you could have a choice whether to follow Me or follow sin. By having this choice, you have the choice to receive My love or to reject it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It pains Me a great deal to allow sin in this world. I don\u2019t want it to be anywhere close to you. I want to protect you from it completely (Psalm 91) but I have to allow it so that you have a choice. If I were to love you and you didn\u2019t have a choice than you could never love Me back. You would have not choice and so, therefore, love could not be reciprocal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Does this make sense?<\/p>\n\n\n\n It pained Me greatly to put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil into the Garden of Eden. I wanted to create a perfect garden without any danger but I knew that the world would be muted and unpleasant if I did because you would never have been able to truly receive or reciprocate love. Without love, this creation would have become terrible and like hell, even though it was intended to be perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, I did what I had to do and I allowed sin to enter the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, I provided freedom. I sent Jesus to take care of everything. He took ALL sin and ALL death upon Himself and He has dug up the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and disposed of it properly for all who choose to believe in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is where freedom comes in. It is in recognizing that sin was necessary so that you could choose to be set free from sin in its entirety and enter into the covenantal relationship available\u2026a relationship based on pure and complete love. Freedom comes from embracing the truth that sin and darkness was necessary so that you could choose love and lightness. You could choose Me and by choosing Me from your own free will you entered into an eternal covenant with Me and this is how you re-enter the Garden of Eden without sin. You enter the Garden of Eden that is perfect and not just very good (Genesis 1:31) because it no longer has the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in it because Jesus has taken care of it all for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Find the freedom that I offer you right now. Receive the fullness of this truth. I love you. I created you to love Me but I could not force you to love Me or it would not be love. Therefore, I allowed sin and darkness in the world so that you had the choice to love Me and believe in Me and to trust Me above all else and enter into an eternal freedom that is completely, 100% free of sin. To do this you simply need to fully accept the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ and claim it for your own just like the explorers would claim land by putting a flag in the ground. Claim this ground by putting the \u201cflag\u201d of your belief in Jesus Christ into the \u201cground\u201d of your soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lord, I receive the amazing gift You have given me of Jesus perfect and unblemished life being sacrificed for my sins and for the sins of anyone and everyone who has ever sinned directly against me or who I have experienced collateral damage because of their sin. I forgive Lord. I forgive everyone. I want nothing to do with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I want the Tree of Life only that comes from You. I forgive all people for all time. Every single sin done against me. Every single sin that has been done in this world that has impacted me directly or indirectly\u2026I forgive it all not because it was right or good but because I want to be free from sin and death so that I can experience life. Lord, forgive me for all of my own sin. Forgive me for partnering with death and darkness and sinning against others. Please let me know if I need to do anything to remedy the sins that I have committed so that I can find the freedom I need so desperately. I don\u2019t want anything to come between us. Not one little thing. So please, forgive me for all of my sins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I choose You Lord. I choose to receive Your love and I choose to give You the fullness of my love so that we can have nothing between us for all eternity. This is my greatest desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Galatians 5:1 \u201cFor freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Notice a few things in this verse:<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are many traditions that will hold you in slavery either purposefully or inadvertently because you believe the tradition is providing the freedom rather than Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are many rules and regulations that will hold you in slavery, again, because you believe the rule or regulation is providing the freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What did Christ set you free from?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Slavery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Slavery from what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How does this make sense?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I create the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I allowed evil (which is simply the opposition to Me) to be part of this world so that you had a choice to love and obey Me or love and obey evil. Without this choice you would have been slaves to Me because if you do not have a choice, you are a slave. See the Daily Message dated February 5th<\/sup> *when available) for a more detailed explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Evil is rebellion against me, it is a choice to do something other than what I have designed you and this world for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When sin entered the world the \u201cvery good\u201d that I created the world changed and it was no longer very good. Therefore, the one thing that keeps everything from being very good is sin. Therefore, when Jesus came to earth, died for all sin and was resurrected He restored the possibility of the creation to \u201cvery good\u201d. The only thing that you, or anyone else needs to do in order to bring the \u201cvery good\u201d to this world is to believe (John 3:16) and this is the work I have set before you while you are here on the earth (John 6:29).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Each time you believe in Jesus and in Me and in all that we have promised you experience the \u201cvery good\u201d that is available to you because you believe in good over evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Each time you believe in Jesus and in Me with the power of the Holy Spirit supplying all that you need you experience good in everything that you do (Romans 8:28). Therefore, believing is the best thing that you can possibly do and believing comes from fearing Me enough to do what I ask of you, which requires listening to Me, which comes primarily from listening to My word both in Scripture and what I share to this day (Romans 10:17).<\/p>\n\n\n\n I know this world does not like to talk about or focus on sin and I agree, it is not something to be focused on but\u2026if people do not accept that sin is what is holding them slavery then they don\u2019t know to simply receive the fullness of the freedom that Christ offers by setting them free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Disconnect yourself completely from sin and from any of the sin that has entered this world causing it to be anything less than \u201cvery good\u201d by forgiving everyone and anyone who has ever sinned against you or caused you difficulty due to them sinning against someone else and it impacted you. Ask for forgiveness for all of your sins and go work this out with the people who were impacted by your sin. Forgiveness does NOT mean that what was done was the right thing or acceptable. It also does not mean that you need to continue to put yourself in a position to be sinned against if it is harming you, it does, however, mean that you can be set free from the slavery that you are in when you are holding on to sin. Instead of holding on for sin, looking for someone to do something to make it right, let go and give it all to Jesus to deal with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Find the freedom that He offers. Believe that He will take care of every single thing. He will handle any vengeance needed. He will handle any grace needed. That is way above your pay grade. It is solidly in His. He knows what is best in every situation even if it is the most egregious sin possible. The more you hold on to sin and what you deserve because you were sinned against the more you stay in slavery and turn away from freedom. The moment you forgive you will experience a freedom like you have never experienced before. It may still be challenging and you may need to remind yourself that you forgave, but that is part of not \u201csubmitting again to a yoke of slavery\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trust Me on this one. If you forgive and then decide it was a mistake you can always return to the slavery and take the consequence of the sin back upon yourself rather than leaving it with Jesus. That is your choice! Give this a try now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lord Jesus, You know about every single sin in my life and every single sin that hurt me. You died for every single bit of it and it no longer belongs to me. Forgive me for thinking that I need to take care of the sin problem by holding on to past sins against me or demanding justice or vengeance. I want to experience the greatest freedom possible and that is freedom in You. I give you all of my sin and I give you all of the sins that were done against me. This does not mean they were okay or right, they are still sin, but it means that I no longer have to live under the weight of them. Please reveal to me anyone I need to talk to and ask forgiveness from so that I can also help them be set free from my sins against them. For the extremely egregious sins that were done to me or to others that then caused them to pass the sin or the pain of the sin along to me I need your help in forgiving. Just like you helped Corrie Ten boom to forgive her captive in the Nazi concentration camp, I ask you to help me forgive the people whose sin has kept me captive all these years. I have held onto it as a medal of honor at times and I no longer want this medal of honor. I give it to you. Help me forgive and then remind myself that I forgave when it comes up in my emotions again.
