2 Timothy 3:12 ESV \u201cYes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2 of a 12-part series: Clearly knowing your specific purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many people face fear when they come to know Me because they wonder if I will make them face persecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is clearly laid out here so let\u2019s just deal with the elephant in the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus you can expect to experience persecution. This can look many ways\u2026from losing friends, getting scoffed at, feeling out of place at work, etc. all the way to being tortured and killed for you faith. You can assume that you will experience something of persecution but take heart, you are blessed when you are persecuted for My sake (Matthew 5:10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do not be afraid of persecution because, as you have learned in the first day of this series, all of your problems are not your problems, they are Mine. Therefore, the strength and power you need in order to handle persecution will come from Me, not from you so you don\u2019t have to be afraid of it and the eternal blessing you will receive because of it is significant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where will the persecution come from?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From inside and outside the \u201cchurch\u201d. I put church in quotes because My true church will not persecute you but those who appear to be in the church who are not will persecute and so they are \u201cin\u201d the \u201cchurch\u201d at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What am I saying?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expect to receive persecution from all sides and from anywhere. Jesus was persecuted and killed by the very people who should have taken up His mantle and spread it throughout the whole world. This is nothing new to be persecuted by the very people who should be your greatest supporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bring the internal persecution up first because it comes as more of a surprise and is harder to handle. People expect persecution from outside the church so it does not catch they by surprise as much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The way you best handle persecution is the very thing that I shared with you during the 1st<\/sup> day of this 12-part series:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Love Me with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. All of your problems are actually My problems and I will handle them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    When you love Me and see that all of your problems are actually Mine then the persecution no longer seems to be an attack on you and your problem so it takes the emotional sting out of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I believe this is a message to us from God, written from His perspective \u2013 Sherri<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n
