Nehemiah 8:10 ESV \u201cThen he said to them, \u201cGo your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The context for this verse is that all the Israelites have figured out how far they have strayed from Me and My laws and they are very distressed about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many pastors would have told them \u201cbeat your chest, prostrate yourself to the Lord and beg for Him to not punish you fully as you deserve\u201d but I say otherwise. I had Nehemiah say \u201cgo your way, Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and be generous with others. Don\u2019t be grieved. You didn\u2019t know. Now you know. Receive the fullness of this message of Me and the law and allow My joy to give you strength.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If only the Pharisees had heard this message\u2026they would have been so much more helpful to My people, but they focused on using their own strength to follow and complete the law (not all of them of course, but certainly the ones who killed Jesus).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do not buy into the darkness that is trying to cover the gospel with rules, things you need to walk away from that will make life unpleasant, expectations\u2026all of that. Buy into the light that I am good. I am loving. I want what you want when you want what is deep within you. I want the very things you desperately wish could come out and be expressed. I put them inside of you and I want you to express and enjoy them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you need strength? Let My joy flowing through you provide the strength that you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love Me, trust Me and walk with Me. It will be better than you could imagine, not because your circumstances change overnight but because you have full love, support, and guidance as you do all that you do. Let go of all else that entangles you. Stop listening to the lies of the enemy that are preached through the mouths of pastors and teachers who believe that I am a hard and judgmental God. Instead, listen to the pastors who truly know Me and walk with Me and know My love. None are perfect of course but\u2026be very careful who you listen to. If they are not living the joy of the Lord, they are missing something very important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sure, there is a time for suffering, but it will happen within the natural flow of life. It is part of living in a broken world. It does not mean that I bring it to you when you start following Me. Count the cost of following Jesus\u2026yes, this is important. It will cost you all the things that are meaningless in your life and it will gain you your very life. Count the cost and know that it is so much less than you would pay for all that you gain from knowing Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
