2 Kings 18:4 NLT \u201cHe [Hezekiah] removed the pagan shrines, smashed the sacred pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke up the bronze serpent that Moses had made, because the people of Israel had been offering sacrifices to it. The bronze serpent was called Nehushtan.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes it is really important to get rid of the things that have been beneficial to us in the past but are no longer part of My plan. Of course, the sacred pillars and Asherah poles never served My purposes but the bronze serpent was something I specifically told Moses to create in order to prevent the Israelites from being wiped out by snakes (Numbers 21:4-9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But in this message what I am emphasizing is that there are times when I have told you to do something that is good for you at that time but if you hold onto it too long it ends up being an idol. This is the case for the bronze serpent. At the time, it represented Jesus being lifted up to save the nations but the Israelites held onto it past the time of its usefulness and it became an idol that they worshipped and sacrificed to. It became a snare to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you follow Me, I will communicate things to you that are good for you for a time and then I will communicate with you when they are no longer good for you and I will ask you to let go of them. If you are not able to let go and move onto what is next, that thing is no longer anointed by Me and it becomes an idol. Once it is an idol it will be necessary to smash it and remove all traces of it. Make it easier on yourself and simply let go of the things that no longer are in My plan for you and move into what is anointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take a moment and consider if there is anything I am asking you to create and also take a moment to check in on whether there is anything that was good for you at the time but is now something you need to let go of or something that has become an idol and needs to be destroyed. I will tell you out of love, not judgement, so listen to My loving voice as I share with you what I want to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
