A 14 Day Journey to the amazing benefits that come from fearing God Messages from God, Bible Study, Prayer, and Blessing.
What does it mean to fear Me. So many people have negative concepts of this phrase and yet if you study it you see how powerful it is. Doing a quick word study in the Bible shows you that the fear of the Lord gives you all of this:
- Deliverance out of the hand of all my enemies
- Deliverance of my soul from death
- Being kept alive in famine
- His mercy
- Riches and honor and life
- Lacking no good thing
- Being My friend
- Plucking my feet out of the net
- Experiencing the steadfast love of the Lord
- Refuge for my children
- Life, resting satisfied; not being visited by harm
- Prolonged life
- Fulfilled desires
- Being saved when I cry
- Being hidden from the plots of men and stored in His shelter from the strife of tongues
- Beginning of wisdom
Are these things you want? We will talk more deeply about each one as we study them together.
Just being here makes you one of the few that wants the fullness of the abundance and the Kingdom. Stick with Me on this and you will find the freedom and all that you desire!
Day 1
2 Kings 17:39 “..you shall fear the Lord your God, and He will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
Enemies can be literal or figurative these days. They can be someone who is bullying you at school or work or it can be a boss who has it in for you. It can be a competitor or a large corporation who is trying to take away your livelihood. It can be the fears within your own mind about what will happen to you if you make a mistake and take the wrong path. It can be the voices in your head telling you that you are not good enough.
Your enemies can also be a government that is opposing your own and at war with you.
Do you have enemies?
Fear Me and I will deliver Me out of the hand of all your enemies.
What does it mean to fear Me?
It simply means this, that you believe that I am more to be concerned about than the enemy that is right in front of you. It is your concern to do what I ask and tell you to do than it is to do what your enemy asks or tells you to do.
If your enemy threatens to hurt you, your natural reaction may be to be afraid of them but this is not where your fear is best placed. It is best placed in Me. If you fear Me you will do as I ask you to do. You will love Me with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). You will love yourself and your neighbor (Mark 12:31) and you will love your enemy (Matthew 5:44). This turns your attention away from the enemy before you and turns your attention toward the supernatural truth of what is available to you.
The supernatural is much more powerful than what you see in the natural and the laws and principles that rule it seem strange without knowing Me but when you know Me you know that I am right here with you causing things to happen that would not normally happen.
Stop looking to the world to protect you.
Look to Me instead!
Believe that what I want is best for you and it is more amazing and abundant than what you can even think of on your own (Ephesians 3:20).
Stop looking to Me, expecting Me to be stingy, withholding everything you want, and holding you back from the life you really want.
See Me as I am. Your mighty, powerful God who gives good gifts to all His children (Matthew 7:11).
Day 1 Prayer
Lord, please help me fear You.
Day 2
Psalm 33:18 “Behold the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love, that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine.”
The amazing part of this is that I have my eye on all who fear Me. Imagine having the most powerful and loving dad in the world who always has his eye on you to make sure you are safe and don’t make any terrible mistakes. I won’t try to control you, if I wanted that I would not have given you free will, but it does mean that you have constant backup on everything that you do.
Then the bigger and more eternal aspect of this is that I will deliver your soul from death so that you can live in eternity with Me forever, which will be so much fun! Also, I will keep you alive in famine.
It is very hard for people who follow Me to accept that they receive preferential treatment. The guilt and feeling that everyone should be equal kicks in and they almost get offended with Me for giving them special treatment, but this makes no sense. If you are a teacher and you have 20 students and 5 of them really study, spend time learning, and seek your special help when they don’t understand something or when they want to challenge themselves more and you have 15 students who simply do the work that is expected, which ones do you think will get a better education and have more opportunities presented to them? Is this type of “preferential treatment” available to all the students or just the 5?
It is the same with me. My children who seek Me out, who fear Me and do what I suggest when they ask for “extra assignments” simply have more opportunity to benefit from the wisdom I have to offer than those who do not. It is as simple as that. I welcome ANYONE who wants to experience this preferential treatment and it is not withheld from anyone at all but please do not fault Me for providing special treatment for My children who seek out My wisdom, guidance, and love. Receive this as a gift instead and fear Me because you know it is the best thing you can do not only for yourself but also for every single person you encounter. I love sharing My love and preferential treatment so as people see that your life goes so much better because you fear Me they will begin to consider checking Me out to see if I might be someone they want to know. Then they also get to experience more of My “preferential treatment” and they also get to be kept alive during famine.
Being kept alive in famine can mean many things. It can mean that I literally make sure you have enough food during famine or it can mean that I provide for your needs during difficult relationships or difficult times. In any case, when you fear Me, I have My eye on you and I love you deeply so I make sure you stay alive during challenging times.
Day 2 Prayer
Lord, please help me fear You.
Day 3
Luke 1:50 “And His mercy is for those who fear Him from generation to generation.”
What is mercy?
It means that you get to experience the fullness of My Kingdom, My love and all of the benefits even when you make mistakes. Does this sound good to you?
Do you like the idea of not being able to make a mistake that will cost you your life or your livelihood? Do you like the idea of being able to do your best in this world and not have to fear the consequences of missing something or doing something wrong?
Of course, if you do something that you know directly goes against what I want there will be consequences, just as is true when you rebelliously disobey your parents. But, there is a big difference between making a bad decision that seems to be the best decision you can think of…even if you don’t have enough information to make the decision…and making a rebellious decision.
My mercy happens to cover both, of course, but usually when there is a rebellious decision there is a lot of other things going on that are underlying the surface and we have to work through those as you deal with the consequences of your choice.
But always remember this:
Romans 8:28 ESV “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
I am such a good God that I can bring good out of everything. Even the biggest mistakes of your life…I bring good out of them.
My mercy prevails for those to love, trust, and fear Me. It is all intertwined…love, trust, and fear.
Don’t be afraid of Me but do fear Me. It will bring great mercy to you in all aspects of your life and then you don’t have to worry about making mistakes any longer. You get to simply live your life. That sounds really wonderful doesn’t it?!
Day 3 Prayer
Lord, please help me fear You.
