A comprehensive 40 Day Journey to Awaken Power in Your Life through Messages from God, Bible Study, Prayer, and Blessing.
Mark 9:1 ESV “…there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.”
As with many prophecies this one is true at that time and also for a later time.
It is time for My church to take up it’s power, it’s true power, so that it can come to earth the way I intended.
Adam and Eve walked in the power of God, which is why they were a threat to the enemy. Adam names all the creatures of the earth and there is power in one’s name. He gave them their identity as he named them, and identity is power.
What is your identity?
What clues can you ascertain from your name? Yes, your parents gave you your name, but I was involved too!
You are a child of God, made in My image (Genesis 1:26) and you, as a follower of Jesus, are destined to do greater things than even Jesus did…
John 14:12 ESV “Truly, truly I say to you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do because I am going to the Father.”
For so many years now My church, My people, have been faithfully following Me but doing it from their own strength as was true of the disciples, but in that day I (Jesus) made a promise that is now being fulfilled.
Align your heart, soul, strength, and mind with Me (Luke 10:27). Lose your life so that you may gain it (Mark 8:35) and
Acts 1:8 “…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…”
Een Jesus did not know the time of this prophecy.
Matthew 24:36 ESV “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
You have a choice
You can critique all that I am saying.
You can explain away the power of the Kingdom that is at hand.
You can say it was for a different time and place or it isn’t for you
But know this…
My power is coming and I want My faithful followers to experience it and live in it. Yes, it is true the apostles had no idea what to expect when Jesus fulfilled the law in a very different way than they desired. They wanted their King to come on a stallion and conquer the Roman empire and yet He came through a sheep gate on a donkey. They could have known, fully, what would happen if they had believed the Scriptures rather than trusting their own vision of what was to come, but don’t let that happen to you.
Over the next 40 days I will take you on a journey through the Scriptures to see and understand the power of My church – at this time!
The prophecies meant something then, and they mean something now.
Come explore with Me. Lay down your understanding and your own power. Plug into the power source that is the Holy Spirit and experience…
Matthew 24:38 ESV “For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
Do not be caught unawares
Do not be swept away
Come on this journey with Me and see…
Revelation 21:1 ESV “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.”
As was true when Jesus came to earth – people thought they knew what to expect but forgot…
Isaiah 55:8 “’…neither are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord.”
I spelled everything out for them but My ways were so different than what they wanted or expected. My ways were beyond their comprehension and so they missed it. Over the next 40 days I will show you My ways and what it means for power to come to earth and the new earth to be prepared. Join Me so that you can lay aside your ways and your perspectives and see mine.
Day 1
Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church an in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
Notice a few key words are underlined in the verse above:
- All
- Power within us
Do you feel powerless in a specific situation?
Do you recognize that the power for abundance in all situations lives within you?
What do you think about that?
Power….within!
Consider for a moment a situation within which you feel powerless. Speak it out or write it down. Be specific – what specifically feels powerless to you? Keep revising it until it really hits the nail on the head. Write it out as “I feel powerless to _________________”
Don’t move on to the next step until you have done this – even if it takes some time!
When you are ready – now – if you are ready – in 2 days, if that is when you are ready…read on…
Notice the first few words of this verse…”To Him who is able” and the words “to Him be the glory”
Take a moment and think, imagine, or feel the connection between:
- Him who is able and wants to…. – God
- Power at work within us – Holy Spirit
- Glory in Christ Jesus – Jesus
- You – My Beloved
Experience the power building, focusing, or circling.
Stay here for a moment until you feel that the trinity is right here with you, building power around you and potentially in you.
Let go of doubts, religious beliefs and platitudes, false beliefs, and anything getting in the way. They will try to surface here and detract from the power that I Am!
I am a powerful God
So powerful I created the world in six days
And raised Jesus (and others) from the dead
Healed sick people
Gave sight
Conquered all sin and death
I am not a wimpy God.
I am a powerful God and I work within you!
Let go of any doubts or views about Me that contradict this. All the Bible verses going through your mind right now remain true and fit with what we are doing now – you will see this more clearly in a moment.
Release objections, questions, and concerns and put them to the side for this moment. Experience Me as a powerful God.
Nothing is too hard for m (Jeremiah 32:27)
If it helps – repeat over and over:
“God IS powerful”
“God’s power works within me”
“God is powerful”
“Nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37)
Now, repeat the statement you said or wrote and change the word powerless to powerful. Then change the wording to “With God, I AM powerful to _______”
Let this statement permeate your existence and your identity in Me!
If anything gets in the way – ask Me to remove, heal, or help you move beyond it and then say the statement above again.
Day 1 Prayer:
Your power flows through me Lord, not for my own sake but for yours and I get to enjoy the amazing adventure that we are about to go on together. Thank You for inviting me onto this adventure! Amen
Day 2
Romans 8:9 ESV “You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”
This verse is really important when talking about My power. As I say in the Bible, I am a jealous God and I do not share My home, space, or power with any other gods that oppose Me (Exodus 20:5).
Are you expecting Me to share you with someone or something else?
When Jesus showed what true power is, did He share any of His loyalty to anything other than Me? No, He said
John 5:19 “So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.”
John 5:30 “I can do nothing on my own…because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”
It is common in today’s church for people to believe in Jesus and…..something else. Jesus and…manifestation from their own power….Jesus and…the universe being created the way they wanted it to be created…Jesus and…their mind being more powerful than physical forces…
These are all Biblically based “truths” but they have untruth to them because they are focused on the earth, which is passing away rather than Me, who is eternal.
1 John 2:17 “And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”
One aspect of experiencing power in your life and in the lives of other is to change your perspective.
First, it is Jesus and only Jesus who can have true power because He is the one who is the way to Me and I am the source of all creation and power. I know that sounds egotistical to say but, if I do not say the truth, it is cruel because then I am allowing a lie to fester and that reduces your power.
Second, since this earth is temporary and I am eternal and since I am in heaven (Matthew 6:9) and since My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8) it is essential that you move your perspective to My perspective in order to experience My power. Again, I don’t want to sound egotistical but I want you to know the truth.
When you look at someone in pain or who is suffering…when you see a country that is on the brink of destruction, before you pray or attempt to use My power to do anything about it, it is essential that you know what I think or know about it. It is essential that you know what I am doing.
When you see a hurricane bearing down on a country and you want to pray for Me not to destroy the land or decimate the country it is essential that you, first, seek Me and what I am doing. Is this My force of nature that is bearing down on the country or is this the enemy bringing destruction? Is this My judgement that is bearing down heavily on this people and I am trying to bring them to repentance or realization that I am God and there is no other?
When you know My perspective you will know how to pray and your prayers will align with My power and this is when you experience power.
Of course, there are times when there is something you deeply desire, and it does not go against My Will and I will adjust My plans to yours simply because we are in this together and I want to honor you. If we always do what I want then we don’t have much of a relationship. But…as you know Me more, what you want more easily aligns with Me.
Give this a try.
Do you want to experience more of My power?
First, kick out any other gods or idols that you bow down to or follow. Ask Me to point them out to you if that is what you need. Notice what you spend time, money, and energy on that is not directly in service of Me. These are the things that might be competing with Me. This does not mean you need to quit your job and go into ministry – instead look at what is at the root of what you do and why you do it – that will show you more about whether it is an idol or a false god or not. Renounce anything that is not Me and receive the Holy Spirit more completely within you. This can take some people years because their idols are very tricky and very deeply embedded. Keep looking and keep searching and keep repenting and replacing with the Holy Spirit. I can do things very quickly when you are willing to let go of anything. Just give Me permission and ask Me. But then, when I do it, know that it may be uncomfortable and yet, praise Me anyway! I don’t share space in My temple with others. They only detract from what is truly happening in the temple and they bring no good or benefit so I do not share space with any others! Not in your heart, not in your body, not in your mind, and not through your words. If this is sparking something within you and you want help exploring it, seek a prayer minister or one of My prophets for help. It comes naturally to them and they can help you go as deeply into it as you need.
Second, next time you see something you want to change start with this…ask Me to show you what I am doing, My perspective, and what My Will is in this situation. If you get nothing from Me you can assume that you are able to pray however you would like and I will join you in it. If I am doing something specific I will show you through words, pictures, songs, a sense of what is happening, by highlighting news events and giving you supernatural knowledge about them, or by praying the prayers directly through you if you will allow Me that.
This is a very good way to pray.
It is essentially praying the way Jesus taught you to pray:
- Acknowledging that I am in heaven and have a different perspective (Matthew 6:9)
- Acknowledging that My perspective is Holy and better than your perspective (if this phrase raises your hackles then you have a god that is competing with Me. If you prefer Me over this god, explore what or who it is and get rid of it.) (Matthew 6:9)
- You want My Kingdom to come and My Will to be done over all else – here on earth as it is with Me in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)
- Recognizing that I need to provide whatever you need. (Matthew 6:11)
- Recognizing that forgiveness is an essential part of connecting with my power and being willing to ask for forgiveness and forgive others readily. (Matthew 6:12, 14-15)
- Accepting that you need My help so that you can see clearly and not be taken in by the evil words being spoken around you. (Matthew 6:13)
Today’s chapter has been very convicting for some. I acknowledge that but, as your God, it is essential that I let you know when you are allowing others to get in the way of the very power you are asking Me for. I bless you with the knowledge and discernment to be able to see whatever is in the way of My power flowing powerfully through you – through Jesus name.
Let go of anything that is not Me and hold onto Me and you will find the power you seek. Let go of the very thing you find yourself holding onto as you in times of trouble and hold onto Me. I know they feel more real…but I am much more real!

Day 2 Prayer:
Knowing You is more important to me than experiencing Your power but, experiencing Your power is inevitable when I know You. I want to know You more because I want to know the One who created all things and, I will be completely honest, I also want to live from a place of Your power…ever day. Thank You for inviting me on this journey! Amen.
Day 3
Romans 9:17 ESV “For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, ‘For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.’”
This scripture shows a very powerful thing…you have a choice to have My power shown in you through positive or negative experiences. You will, at some point, experience My power in your life and you have a very active way to participate to determine whether it will be for good or for bad. Pharoah hardened his heart and chose to go up against Me rather than to align with Me and handle the unknowns that were to come. He truly believed that he would prevail in the “battle” that ensued, which shows that he got out of step with the truth.
When Moses and Aaron confronted him, he could have worked with them and the disaster that ensued would have been avoided entirely. Of course, he would have to have figured out another way to build the monuments to himself that he was trying to build through the Israelites…or he could have stopped glorifying himself and glorified Me instead.
I do not need glory…it is simply what is realistic when someone comes in contact with Me. I simply AM glorified when you encounter me.
The choice is whether you will also be glorified and exalted or whether it will go badly for you.
Yes, I am being quite blunt in this conversation because I want you to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom. While you are on earth there are many things you can hide from temporarily. Free will is a powerful thing and I honor it because without it this world does not make any sense to the Kingdom of Heaven. But, at some point, there will be a reckoning moment where you and I will come to terms with each other or we will be determined as enemies. It is your choice.
I do not judge, condemn or put people away. It is entirely up to you. I simply ask one thing…for you to align with what I have said is true and to follow the laws of the world as they have been set out. I created a covenant between Me and you because I knew that you would not be able to fully accomplish your end of the deal but I am happy to have that covenant in place because then I can display My power in and through you.
Is this what you want?
My power displayed in and through you?
What would it be like to walk through life powerful in a way that is truly power. It is a power based on lifting people up rather than tearing down. It is based on justice and mercy rather than on getting what you think is due to you. It is a very satisfying power and it is so much more powerful than any other powerful experience available.
So, how do you experience this power?
Let’s use Pharoah as an example.
Moses and Aaron came to him and said:
Exodus 9:1 “Let My people go!”
Pharoah had a choice. He weighed all of his options in his mind and realized that by letting My people go he would be down a lot of slaves and his ego projects would have to be stopped. So, he went against all that his soul, spirit and body were telling him at that moment and went with ego, greed and his mind instead. He said no.
His heart hardened. It was already hardened because all he cared about was himself, but it hardened more at that moment.
I am a God of many chances though and so I sent Moses and Aaron back repeatedly, each time showing them that I am truly powerful, more powerful than anything else in the world, including him and his magicians. But he chose to stand up to Me instead of simply recognizing that losing a foreign nation of people would be much better than losing his entire nation.
His heart hardened over and over through the process and it remained hard until the very end when his troops were drowned (see the full story in Exodus 7-14).
I am curious now, as you read this….what are the areas in your own life that, if I asked you to let go of them you would give Me very good reasons why you cannot? Are there areas I have already asked you to let go of and yet you know that your monument to yourself would be lost or broken down? I don’t say this out of judgment or condemnation because there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Instead I bring it up with you because these are the areas that block the power that I want to work within you.
You may gain a monument to yourself of control, safety, status, self worth, or praise from others but in the process you lose the much more significant gift that I have for you….My power working in and through you in this world.
If you want, it is easy to remedy this.
Pray this:
Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
If you pray this, I will answer it and everything that I show you will be a path toward greater and greater true power…My power.
If you really want to experience it powerfully then ask Me to prune you of anything and everything that is not aligned with Me. Then as you see things change in your life know that, even if they are hard to let go of, it is Me answering the prayer so simply let go of them, repent for holding onto them, ask forgiveness, and forgive yourself and then ask Me to fill the space with My Holy Spirit and you will start to experience more and more of My power.
Ask to be known, fully known by Jesus Himself. That will be the most powerful prayer you can ever pray.
Yes, we will move into areas of greater power but I want you to be ready for me to actually change your life. Are you ready? I will do it if you let Me! It will be better than you ever imagined! Yesterday’s verse is a powerful one to pray again today:
