2 Timothy 3:15 NLT “You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.”
Day 3 of a 12-part series: Clearly knowing your specific purpose.
Staying close to My Scriptures is the way to know your specific purpose on a daily basis. Sometimes I will be so clear as to give you a verse that somehow you will simply know is what you are supposed to do and other times it will be a sense that you get through your Spirit. Other days you can tell I am trying to tell you something but you can’t quite figure out what it is. That is a great day to talk to friends or others who hear Me and ask for guidance from them as they also listen to My guidance.
The important thing in this verse is that the holy Scriptures have given you wisdom and have given you the very ability to trust Christ Jesus.
You cannot experience your purpose if you do not trust Christ Jesus.
Search your soul, your heart, your mind, and your strength for a moment and ask if there is any part of you that does not trust Christ Jesus. Of course, your level of trust may vary depending on how long and how deeply you have studied the Scriptures as well as based on the experiences you have had to endure in life, but this is okay. I can work with anything you are dealing with. Just search and see if there is any mistrust and then, with great faith, ask Me to bring trust into that area. By doing this you are demonstrating your desired trust in Me and I will handle the rest.
The best way to practice trusting Me is to:
- Read Scripture – it doesn’t even really matter where you read. Even the genealogies can inspire great trust if you let Me show you what is in them.
- Love Me with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).
- All of your problems are actually My problems and I will handle them.
For the rest of this day…whenever you feel anxious or worried, when you wonder what you should do or not do, when you feel the pressures of the day coming down upon you simply do this….turn your attention to Me and say that you love Me. This invokes the power of love and it causes Me to jump into action on your part (I am already in action but it allow you to connect with what I am doing) and then move on with your day knowing that I bring good to all who love Me and so the best way to have good happen in your life is to simply love Me. You don’t have to solve anything. You don’t have to work anything out. Yes, I will show you the next step but most of the things you worry about or are anxious about are not anything that require immediate action…they are usually from the past or from the future so putting your mind on loving Me puts you back in the present. Try it for a week and see what I will do!
