Psalm 19:13 “Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.
I am here to help you not sin. Would you like this?
Jesus knows how to do this since He never sinned and He experienced every temptation that you experience (Hebrews 4:15). All you have to do is ask. Your life will change dramatically when it is free from sin. Here are 3 steps in achieving this:
- Pray today’s verse (aloud is helpful because then you hear yourself praying it).
- Ask for forgiveness of all of your sins. This may be very short if you have already done a lot of forgiveness work. This is like Jesus washing the disciples feet – they did not need to be washed from head to toe but only the dust of their feet removed. The dust of the feet represents the sins from the day or from the recent journey (John 13:1-17).
- Forgive all people from their sins against you. This can be challenging, particularly if there are grievous sins that have been done against you. The thing to remember is that forgiveness does not come from within you, it comes through Jesus. It is not your power that will be able to forgive but His. If you are having trouble forgiving, ask Jesus to help. Forgiveness does not condone what was done, it simply separates and frees you from what was done. I will take care of the consequences of the sin with the person who sinned against you. Forgiveness takes them out of your hands and puts them in My hands where they belong. I will bring justice – I promise you that. Free yourself from the pain and suffering caused by the sins done against you. You want nothing to do with them any longer so let them go and find freedom!
Recognize that the one thing that caused the fall in the Garden of Eden was sin. Prior to that the Garden was very good! After it, it started moving toward entropy (gradual decline into disorder). If you want your life to resist entropy and return to the state of very good you can choose to let go of all sin!
