2 Thessalonians 3:5 CEV “I pray that the Lord will guide you to be as loving as God and as patient as Christ.”
What amazing characteristics. Love and patience.
When you look at the fruits of the Spirit, they include these two characteristics, love and patience. Therefore, you can know that these characteristics do not come from yourself but from the Holy Spirit within you.
Your request and prayer, therefore, does not need to be to have more love and patience but to have more of the Holy Spirit.
When I have set you up for something great and mighty you can know that something great and mighty will happen. It will take longer than you think you can handle but that is part of the point…I am not here to do thing that you can handle. I am here to do things that you can only handle with the Holy Spirit within you and so, when you reach the point you cannot handle things any longer you are very close because that is when the Holy Spirit steps in and does it for you.
Paul experience this…it was in his weakness that I was strong. It was when he reached the end of himself that I was able to show Myself more and more (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Your job is to believe in Me.
Your job is to invite the Holy Spirit to live within you.
Your job is to let go of your own power and might so that Mine may shine through instead.
Your job is to delight yourself in Me.
Your job is to trust Me when everything else looks like it is a failure.
Your job is to rest in Me.
These are hard things for human beings to do.
But I am with you and will make it possible (Matthew 19:26).
