Luke 8:25 NLT “Jesus replied, ‘My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.’”
There are so many amazing things about following Me – it is life giving both now and in all eternity…but in a sinful and broken world it is really hard.
In this passage, my own mother and siblings thought I was completely off My rocker. They thought I had gone insane and could not believe that the boy they knew and had grown up with could be the Messiah of the world. They were trying to protect Me from Myself and My own demise. They had lost track, for a moment, of what God had told and promised them. My mom had lost track of the promises and words she was given at My birth and what she stored up in her heart throughout the years.
It was a momentary lapse of faith because what I was doing was so outrageous for a human being to do they forgot that it was actually God, incarnate, doing it.
Do you believe in Me?
Are you willing to stretch your very concept of what is possible even when things appear to be falling apart?
Keep praying. Keep asking Me for all that you want and need. Keep seeking the miracles that I have promised.
Don’t give up believing every single word I have spoken to you. Be My mother and My brothers by hearing My word and obeying it.” Do not fall away when it gets hard or when you do not feel like I am supporting you or doing what you want. Know that I answer every single one of your prayers…but I answer what is at the heart of the prayer, not the actual prayer. When your heart and your words do not align, even if you think what you are asking is exactly what you want and need, I will always choose to answer what your heart asks…and your mind and your words may get confused but trust Me. I have your best interests at heart. And I have the best interests of the Kingdom of Heaven also at heart.
