1 Corinthians 6:11 NLT “But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
Part 3 of 5 on holiness and spirituality.
Again, look at who is actively making you holy. It is a choice that you make, a permission you give Me to do in your life, yet it is I who does the work.
Call on My name. Call on the name of Jesus Christ. Do it by My Spirit.
Lay down your life, a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Me (Romans 12:1) and believe in Jesus (John 6:29) and let Me prune away from you all that entraps or holds you back so that you can experience the life of holiness and spirituality. It looks so different for every single person. For some it is like the life of a saint – living a life wholly devoted to Me. For others it will look very much like life in this world, but their motivations will be extremely different than they were before they called out to Me and were made holy. In every “natural” conversation they will see the spiritual implications and be able to navigate this world differently…for the Kingdom of heaven rather than the Kingdom of earth.
When you call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ your cleansing, you being made holy, and being made right with God is something that naturally happens. Calling on His name is a powerful thing. You cannot do these things from your own control or your own power. They have to be done through faith and trusting Me that I am good and you can truly put your life in My hands.
Call out to Me and I will tell you great and mighty things that you don’t yet know (Jeremiah 33:3). I will make you holy and righteous, fully blameless as you stand before Me (Colossians 1:22).
Do you want to be holy? Call out the name of Jesus. He will make it happen.
