Ezekiel 20:1 ESV “In the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD and sat before me.”
Of course, if you continue to read on you will see that it doesn’t go well for the elders because they had heard My voice for many years and had not acted upon what they heard.
What is there to be gleaned from this?
The heart posture you come to Me with matters a great deal.
I am more than happy to share all sorts of wisdom and advice with you (Jeremiah 33:3) but if I keep sharing things with you and it doesn’t change your behavior then it makes sense that I would stop sharing with you. That’s just a natural consequence so…don’t stop coming to Me but when I share with you then please not only listen and test the word but also do what is requested of you. You can trust My prophets. Once you have tested the prophet and know them to be accurate then give them the benefit of the doubt and test each word to confirm it matches but then take it seriously.
That’s all for today. Short and simple.
I really love when My people seek My guidance, particularly these days in the marketplace where there is so much risk and danger and opportunity. I want My people to thrive and grow and so I love when they listen to Me and know Me and follow Me.
