Esther 4:14 ESV “For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
For such a time as this…
If you could imagine that the end of time would come soon and you had to bring all of your dreams and desires of your heart to fruition all within the next 5 years (I am not saying this is what is happening, I am asking a question so that you can explore this idea), how would you live your life differently.
Sure, there are bucket list items like traveling and seeing My creation from various perspectives, there are career and relationship goals, there are financial desires and these are all great things to pursues but I also mean the burning desire inside of you to experience the greatness that you were put on this earth to experience.
There isn’t a single person in this world who does not believe they were put here on earth to do something significant. This desire and belief can fizzle or be put out in many ways…you hear about them all the time…a teacher saying you are not good enough, a parent consistently demeaning or devaluing you, a friend inadvertently squashing your dreams, daily life and failures haunting you…these are all things that happen and keep you from that which I created you to do.
The most important thing, as I have shared over many previous days, is for you to receive My love and for you to love. This is central to all things and the first place to focus. And then, once you know My love intimately and personally, you will better be able to see the things I have put into your heart to do for this world.
Jesus asked His disciples to wash one another’s feet (John 13:14). What have I put in your heart to do for others?
If you knew you only had 5 years to do this thing how would you rearrange your life and world today in order to achieve that?
There is something unique to you, even if other people are doing things that are very similar, that I have put you in this world to allow you to “wash other’s feet” and move in the direction of being My hands and feet in this world.
Do you know what it is?
What population do you yearn to see a change in? Who are the people that, when you see them struggling or suffering, your heart almost breaks? What “cause” do you wish I would powerfully influence and make a difference in?
These are clues to the greatness I have put inside of you.
Esther had a unique position in order to do something great, and she had to take a very large risk in order to do what I asked. She had to risk her very life by going before the king who could have had her killed for approaching him. She prepared by fasting and praying with her community and then she chose to put the lives of many over her own life.
What I am asking you is some version of this. Do not go into it thinking it will not cost you anything…if you do you will end up having a crisis of faith when something unexpected happens. The cost will be nothing in comparison to what you and others will gain from your choice to serve and explore the greatness within you.
Greatness shows up in so many different ways. It may be publicly recognized for some, and for others it may never be seen but it will felt by many.
Spend a moment with Me and ask Me to share more with you. Seek Me and you will find Me and I will share with you the greatness I have put within you. Then, we can begin to walk it out and you will truly change the world as you take a step toward Me.
Prayer: Lord, you know Me even better than I know myself. I take a minute, a full minute, to clear my mind and my heart to open my ears, eyes, and all my senses to Your leading and I ask you to give me a word, song, memory, thought, picture, feeling, or “knowing” that will help me know the next step to take toward the greatness I know exists within me. I know it will be impossible on my own to even find it fully but I know with You all things are possible. Give me the courage to even explore what You have for me and let me start by loving you fully and receiving your love fully so that I will never strive to accomplish something for the wrong reasons.

Thank You Lord. I may not know the path completely, but I am one step closer to understanding. Thank you for loving me first and showing me Your ways. I give you permission to do whatever it takes to lead me in the direction you indicated to me – even if I didn’t feel anything overtly specific. I give you permission to make it more and more clear over the upcoming days and to lead me in Your life everlasting. Thank You Lord, Amen.
