Wisdom of Solomon 11:24 NRSV “For you love all things that exist, and detest none of the things that you have made, for you would not have made anything if you hated it.”
The Wisdom of Solomon is considered Scripture to some and not to others but I chose this verse this morning to show something important.
I love all that I created. If I created it, I love it. This does not mean I love everything that everything does. I separate out the thing from the action and I focus on the creation and not the actions. This is what I do with you. I love you fully and completely. If there is anything within you that opposes Me, that is sin and I do not love the opposition but it does not get in the way of My loving you.
This is a very important concept because many people believe that they are what they do. In general you treat others that way, which is why you judge people. You figure if they murder they are a murderer. You don’t assume that they are a murderer because of the extreme number of sins done to them when they were younger. You assume it is who they are. But, this is not how you treat yourself. When you do something that you do not like you separate yourself from it and you see that you are separate from it.
Treat others as you do yourself.
Any bad behavior that you see in someone, do not justify it and make it as though it is good, but realize that there is a reason the are doing it and it may very well not be what they truly want to be doing.
Do not judge the person for their behaviors. Hold them accountable for them but realize that there is an image of God inside of them that is trying to express itself but struggling because of a myriad of circumstances and move forward in that way. It will make it much easier to love them the way I ask you to love!
