Matthew 11:23 ESV “Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.”
Over the past few days I have highlighted some really fun stories in the Bible that share the power I use for the people who follow Me and trust Me in their lives to really and truly make a difference.
Last night there was a discussion at something called the Rescue Project, focused on how I allow suffering and am unpredictable and, yes, there is a lot of talk about the mystery of God and how some things I do don’t make sense. It is true that when you have a supernatural being like myself trying to communicate with people who focus on and live within the natural the lines of communication can get distorted but, may I say with all love, that being involved in the Kingdom is love and power and might…it is not confusion, suffering, and disappointment….you just need to choose to live in the Kingdom.
As you think about the stories of fire coming down from heaven, hailstones dropping on the enemy, and the sounds of chariots in the treetops – causing the enemy to flee even without any battle required – do you think about what I can do in your life?
Do you consider your problems and expect Me to take care of them?
Do you believe I still impact the world powerfully like I did for the Israelites?
Do you trust Me to do something at least as good as what you are asking for?
Do you think I still move mountains?
What I see more of is the world explaining why I don’t do things than the world expecting Me to do things. This has an impact!
Matthew 13:58 ESV “And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.”
I am not saying that if things are not going the way you want in your life that you do not have the faith you need. I am not saying that healing has not come because you have not believed but I am saying that it is important for you to look at how to PARTNER with me, in faith.
Hear what I am saying without judgement or question, please, this is important.
When you have a problem, of course I know about it and I know what your prayer will be even before you pray it (Matthew 6:8) but I also know when the prayers will not come or when the prayers are not believed.
When you come to Me, come expectantly…
Hebrews 4:16 ESV “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Notice how you “protect” yourself by hedging your bet with your prayers. You pray for the bold things but then prepare your heart to be disappointed when I don’t come through.
This is not faith, this is not coming boldly before Me.
This is self preservation and it is watering down your faith in order to protect yourself from a god who does not love You and want what is absolutely best for you.
There are so many reasons why prayers are not answered. They involve free will, sin, not coming to Me, unforgiveness, unrepentance, a lack of desire, and My Will superseding the will of those around you. There is a mystery of healing and of life that is hard for humans to handle but I provide prophets to tell all of My people what is going on underneath the surface.
When someone dies and you have prayed for them to live, there is a reason. It is not arbitrary. Come to Me, ask Me and listen to My answer.
When someone is not healed and you have prayed for them to be healed, there is a reason. It is not arbitrary. Come to Me, ask Me and listen to My answer.
But I guarantee you that the excitement from experiencing Me in the fullness of My glory happens so much more often than the disappointments.
The disappointments have to be managed but I explain what is going on if you will listen. But the glory and the majesty when I do answer the way you want…that is powerful…but often overlooked.
Imagine the thing in your life that you would consider a “mountain” that needs to be moved.
It rolls around in the back of your mind over and over and over again and you believe this is your way of praying about it. You may even pray about it sometimes, but it still rolls around in your mind over and over and over again.
Bring it to Me. Really bring it to Me!!!!
Don’t just think I will handle it because you have been thinking about it. Really bring it to Me and listen to what I have to say and pray about it.
Take a break in your schedule. Sacrifice something and spend the time with Me instead of doing something with a friend…put emphasis on the FACT that I can move mountains for you and talk to Me about it….repeatedly if necessary.
Come to Me. I created you for friendship and so that I could love you.
Come to Me and be My friend and love Me back. Let’s do this all together.
