Matthew 4:23 AMP “And He went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people [demonstrating and revealing that He was indeed the promised Messiah].”
There is so much in this verse we will dig deeper into it over the next few days.
Jesus went through all Galilee.
He was out an about among the people, sharing Himself, talking to people, engaging with people and helping them understand what is truly important in this world…connection with Him.
He was not always preaching, but He preached regularly. He was not always healing, but he healed a lot.
What He mainly did was go out among the people and talk to them and enjoy them. He had the unique experience of being God and walking among His people. This sounds very much like walking in the cool of the day in the garden of Eden.
Genesis 3:8 BSB “Then the man and his wife heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the breeze of the day, and they hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”
I used to walk in the cool of the day regularly with Adam and Eve. On this day, My heart fell because they hid themselves from Me and I no longer had the pleasure of walking casually with My children in their day-to-day lives.
Jesus walked through the towns and got to experience His children, His people, His nation just like we desire so much to do, and He began to restore the creation and the garden in these walks because He walked with our people. As part of that He preached the gospel and healed people because that is also what is necessary in order for us to be able to walk in the “garden” for all eternity with our children.
Do you walk with Jesus on a daily basis in your day-to-day life? This is really all that I desire. Getting to be with you day after day after day, loving you, caring about you, joining in on life with you. The gospel and healing are a significant part of bringing My children home to Me because once they hear the good news that they can return home and once they experience the truth of it through healing of what hurts them the most, that is when we get to connect in a very different way and heaven comes a little closer to earth!
