Romans 10:17 ESV “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”
Do you desire faith?
Be honest with yourself. It is not something everyone wants and it has a cost. Faith requires a lessening of your own control (or perceived control really). Many do not want to give up any sense of perceived control, which means they do not actually want faith.
You don’t have to try to be someone you are not. You can be honest with Me. If you don’t want faith, be honest with Me and with yourself….but if you do, you can be honest about that too.
If you desire faith, you will find it in the word of Christ. As you listen to the words of Christ He will work wonders inside of you and inside of your heart and faith will arise. It happens naturally as you wrestle through what He said with Him. It is always a wrestling match though, you have to expect that and not be surprised. Faith is normally not a straight and easy path, it is one filled with questions and concepts, wonderings and awe and as faith increases you find that the path becomes more straight and easier to walk.
Sometimes faith feels like you are being irresponsible. Other times it feels like you don’t care about things the way you should. Other times it feels like you simply are not doing enough but faith is based on this one thing…the belief that I am at work in you, in others, and in this world and it is not your responsibility to fix everything. It is mine. Then the faith is challenged when it looks like I am not fixing everything but you have to look deeper.
When I am “fixing” things I am doing it from a perspective of eternity and not from the perspective of this moment. What is good in this moment may not have the ability to lead someone to Me for all eternity so it is not good for the long run…that is why people must go down the path they are on for longer than you would like for them. They have to reach a place where My love will sustain them the rest of their lives.
So have faith and know that I know what I am doing. I will not leave or forsake you and I will not allow you to be put to shame. I will exalt you and lead you to the perfection you deeply desire. Trust Me…and if you don’t trust Me, that is fine too – be honest with yourself. I can work with honesty. What I cannot work with is lies because lies are from the devil…but I am more powerful than the devil so even his lies I can turn around and bring the truth out of.
Start here – remember that I love you unconditionally. This means there are no conditions on my love for you to be a certain way, believe a certain thing, or act a certain way. I love you no matter what.
But don’t stop there. Take the next step and explore loving Me. This is when things really start to change, in ways you could never have expected.
I am here with you now, always and forever. I love you.
