April 24 – Daily Message – Psalm 29:3

Psalm 29:3 NLT “The voice of the LORD echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The LORD thunders over the mighty sea.”

Many people experience the sense of the “still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12) but they do not hear when I thunder as much because it terrifies them.

What about you? Are you able to handle the thunder in My voice?

Are you able to handle the fear that Moses experienced when he was asked to walk up the stormy mountain to receive the 10 commandments?

Do you trust Me enough to handle the thundering as well as the still small voice. I am like the person who sometimes uses a quiet voice to gain attention and other times speaks loudly to get My point across. I don’t always speak to people in the same way, but you can know that the truth will always come from My mouth.

Truth is very important to Me and yet very few people want to hear the truth right now. They want to hear what they want to hear and anything else they say is not from Me and so they throw it away.

Does any parent raise their children without ever raising their voice?

Can children survive in this world if they do?

If you truly look at the Bible, you will see that I do raise My voice sometimes. I was stormy on the mountain for Moses, I spoke to Moses from fire within a bush, Jesus called the Pharisees whitewashed tombs, (Matthew 23:27), Elijah saw fire come from heaven, I spoke to Job and shared who I truly am.

I soften My experience for people significantly so that they can handle but I value My children who know Me so well that they can stand in My presence even when I am fully being Myself.

Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

I discipline those whom I love (Hebrews 12:6).

Yet, I also ask you to edify each other (1 Thessalonians 5:11) and I only ask you to do that which I do Myself. I also ask you to love Me, yourself, others, and even your enemies.

So, how can the two concepts be combined. How can you speak truth but yet do it in a way that is loving and builds people up rather than tears them down.

Being honest but from a place of deep love is a great way to start…and also…keeping an ear to what I am doing and saying is always a good idea.

There are times when I ask you to say something very difficult and it may ruin a friendship, but that friendship was not strong in the first place if it cannot handle you saying something difficult when the timing is right. But this does not give permission to “go off” on people. The enemy prowls around and wants to destroy friendships and hurt people and so you have to be careful at the same time.

Either way, discern My voice and listen to My voice and share what I say to you with others. I will be there with you to help!
