1 John 2:4 ESV “Whoever says ‘I know him’ but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him”
Just as yesterday we talked about focusing on abiding in Me so that you will be able to walk with Me today we also look at flipping your perception of what I ask of you so that you will be able to live the life that you desire.
When you read this verse do you believe that your focus needs to be on keeping My commandments? Many people believe that they don’t want to be liars and they want the truth to be in them and so they focus on following My commandments and not lying but this is backwards. Instead, the focus needs to be on knowing Me. When you know Me you will find that you do My commandments and you are truthful in that.
Knowing Me is the only thing that you truly need to do while you are on earth. Everything else falls away. You cannot take anything else with you when you die. The only thing that remains when you die is your relationship with Me…it is the only thing that moves into the next world…that and all the people you influenced while you were here on earth.
Nothing else really matters, even though I know it is important while you are on earth…it really doesn’t matter the way you think it does.
Focus on what you need to focus on…knowing Me. All else falls into place from there.
