2 Timothy 1:6 NLT “This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.”
What spiritual gift have I given you?
How can you fan it into flames?
Use it. Know that you have it. Put emphasis on it. Take it seriously. Ask Me how I want you to use it today and then look for the opportunities. Use it.
When someone gives you a toy as a gift you have a choice. You can leave the toy in the box and look at it or put it aside for the future or you can take it out and play with it.
I have given you AT LEAST one spiritual gift. If you don’t know what it is there are many ways to find out. There are many tests and workshops available, or you can ask Me and I will tell you.
As soon as you know what it is, take it out and play with it. Have fun with it.
When you consider the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) you do not see “seriousness”, “responsibility” and “somberness” included in the fruits do you? I am not sure why so many Christians add these to the virtues of being a Christian when I do not. I share that the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
When you use your gifts you don’t have to be frantic and serious like Martha was. Instead, you can “hang out” with Jesus and play with your gifts.
Enjoy the gift I have given you and fan it into flames. I’ll tell you if I ever want to do anything more serious with them!
