1 Thessalonians 4:1 NLT “Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already and we encourage you to do so even more.”
It is impossible for you to fully live a way that pleases Jesus without giving this over to Jesus Himself to help. He knows there are too many competing priorities. He knows there are too many competing messages, and He knows there are too many competing rules and regulations that keep us from being able to live in a way that is pleasing to Him.
Not all can be nuns and monks who glorify and praise Me all day long. Not all are built to be this type of person. Some are built to live within the constraints of “normal” life and yet be so drawn to glorify and to know Me that they cannot even hold back and not glorify Me.
My dear children, stop trying to impress Me and others, doing it right all of the time, looking for perfection. It is impossible for you to be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect (Matthew 5:48) but all things are possible for God (Matthew 19:26).
Give your life, your plans, your desires, your very self and your wellbeing to God. Trust Jesus to hold it all together as He holds together all things in this world (Colossians 1:17). He holds you together. He holds your body, soul, mind, and strength together. He knows that many things pull at you, and it feels like you are being pulled in many directions and it is impossible for you to figure out how they all fit together. You don’t need to. He knows how it all fits together, so you don’t have to.
Follow Jesus!
Simply be the sheep that you are and follow Jesus.
He will lead you where you need to go. He will provide pasture and still water. He will provide all that you need and all that you want. He is what you want over all other things and He is happy to give Himself freely and fully to you so that you can live the abundant life you desire, and I promise.
Follow Jesus. He knows the way.
