2 Timothy 4:5 NLT “But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.”
Day 7 of a 12-part series: Clearly knowing your specific purpose.
Day 1 of a 4-part deep dive into how, specifically, to carry out your purpose.
Focusing on the first part of this verse today we see that a huge part of fulfilling your purpose is by keeping a clear mind in every situation.
The enemy tries to fill you head with all sorts of lies, judgements and drama and you need to resist this. How?
I know I keep saying this but it is really powerful and will really change your life and so I will repeat it:
- Love Me with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).
- All of your problems are actually My problems and I will handle them.
When you feel your head being full of conflicting thoughts or even basic anxieties turn your focus to loving Me with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. It sounds simply but when you do it simply pay attention to what you are holding back. Are you holding back a part of your mind that is focusing on a problem at hand right now? Love Me with that part of your mind. Are you holding back part of your heart to make sure you won’t get hurt? Love Me with that part of your heart. Are you holding back some of your own will power to get something done or handle a situation if I don’t come through? Love Me with all your strength. Lean in so far that if I don’t show up you will fall. I will show up!
Are problems running through your mind…all the things that could go wrong?
Give Me your problems. They aren’t actually your problems. This is like saying that a two year old who is hungry or who has a friend who just stole his toy has a problem. The child cannot solve their own problems but the parent can. Be like the child and look to Me to solve all of your problems. They are actually My problems to solve since I created you and made you in My image and placed you in the family where you are.
So, clear your mind and focus on Me and all the love that is available to you and you will find that all the problems fall to the wayside. Give it a try. If nothing happens you will know it isn’t true and this isn’t a message from Me. But if something powerful happens, recognize this and keep doing it for it will change your life.
