2 Timothy 4:5 NLT “But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.”
Day 8 of a 12-part series: Clearly knowing your specific purpose.
Day 2 of a 4-part deep dive into how, specifically, to carry out your purpose.
Today’s focus is on the 2nd part of this verse. Don’t be afraid of suffering for Me. There are 2 types of suffering. Worthless suffering and productive suffering. Worthless suffering happens when there are no lessons, no growth, and no benefit. Productive suffering happens when I am involved. I bring good out of all things for those who love Me and are called according to My purpose. Since you are reading this we can assume you love Me and are called according to My purpose so that means good will come out of everything in your life…even what appears to be bad.
When someone suffers and remains steadfast in their belief in Jesus Christ powerful things happen. People see there is something different, the person, themselves, learns something about themselves they didn’t know before and Jesus is able to do so many things with the suffering.
When someone suffers outside of being in the Kingdom, then it is just suffering.
Be in the Kingdom.
Life brings suffering – that is to be expected. It is a fallen world that is filled with sin and demons. You have to assume there will be suffering and not try to avoid it. Instead, hand it over to Me and tell Me that you love Me and want to bring something good out of it.
If you want to do the most powerful thing in the world when you are suffering you can actually thank Me for the suffering. When you thank Me for something difficult it takes the power away from it. The enemy hates it when you thank Me for the very things being sent against you to bring you harm. It makes the enemy extremely angry and distracts him from doing things that cause you suffering but more importantly, thanking Me for the things that cause or caused suffering takes away their negative power and makes them positive.
Try it. What is the worst suffering you have experienced or are experienced?
Take a moment and thank Me for it and see what I do with it.
