Jeremiah 3:17 NLT “And you have brought this upon yourselves by rebelling against the LORD your God, even though he was leading you on the way!”
I don’t bring up rebelling and sin nearly as much as it once was emphasized because it is so easy for human beings to be hard on themselves and beat themselves up, which is not the definition of an abundant relationship but, it is also not fully abundant if we ignore that your choices lead you down a path and when rebellion is involved then you end up going a direction you don’t actually want to go. There is an easy fix though. Kick out rebellion, obstinance, stubbornness, and hardness of heart, ask forgiveness if I point out something you are doing to resist Me and then welcome in your desired fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). I’ll walk you through it and show you how easy it is.
First – notice something in your life that isn’t going the direction you want or isn’t leading you to the desires of your heart.
Second – say something like this “In the name of Jesus Christ and by the power and authority He has generously given me as an outcome from His amazingly loving sacrifice, I command the spirit of rebellion, obstinance, opposition, stubbornness and any other demons palling around with them to be bound and sent to Jesus for Him to deal with as He chooses. I command you to get out of my life, my body, and my decisions NOW in Jesus name.
Third – from a greater place of clarity now available to you ask Me to show you if any forgiveness is needed. Be silent for a few moments and let Me speak to your heart, mind and spirit. Don’t worry if it is My voice or yours. Then when it is time simply say…
LORD – please forgive me for __________
LORD – I forgive myself for __________
LORD God – with great respect I forgive you for __________ not because You make mistakes but because I have assigned this to you and know it doesn’t belong.
Fourth – know that you are forgiven. I keep no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5) and I don’t hold onto the past to use against you.
Fifth – ask Me to fill you with 1 or more of the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) or the Holy Spirit as a whole.
Sixth – Ask Me what direction to take now that I can again lead you on the way without a spirit of rebellion getting in the way.
