Psalm 119:52 NLT “I meditate on Your age-old regulations; O Lord, they comfort Me.”
Written from God’s Perspective:
It seems strange to find comfort from regulations especially for those who are not rule followers and yet it is within the “confines” of boundaries, clearly set and tested, that people find their greatest comfort, particularly when they know others respect the same regulations and live within the same boundaries. Right now is a time in history when these regulations and boundaries have been discarded and it is creating chaos and division.
So many have been taught an incomplete or unsatisfying love – that is dependent upon their behavior rather than their identity. They believe and have experiences that love comes only when they do as the one they want to be loved by tells them to do but this is not love!
Love is unconditional!
You may not like the behavior of someone, but that doesn’t change the fact that they are a a child of God, made in His image and deserving of love for no other reason than that.
I see the person someone is – in My image – separate from the behavior, choices, or sin they do.
Can you do this too?
Can you love the regulations I have given you and find comfort in them knowing that I have loved you every single time you have made a mistake. I have not loved the sin, but I have loved you, which is what helps you see the sin and come back into a place of finding comfort in My regulations.
Can you separate yourself from your bad choices, mistakes, and sins and allow Me to love you unconditionally, completely separate from those things?
If you cannot, ask for My help.
If you can, you are so much closer to being able to do this for others – to help them find My love regardless of their own behavior.
