Jeremiah 20:9 ESV “If I say, ‘I will not mention Him, or speak any more in His name,’ there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.”
What do you feel burning within you that you are weary holding it in? What can you no longer hold in?
I have put in each of you a burning coal that has been burning for years and years and years. It is being fanned to a flame at this very moment. It takes more energy to hold it in than it does to let it out because it is My fire within you that wants to be expressed.
It may not feel like it will be popular, possible, or even received well by those around you but this was the case for Jeremiah also. Yet, I justified Jeremiah and I held him close to My heart and protected him even when others wanted his life to end.
Now is the time to let the passions for Me that have been stirring within you for so long, to come to the surface and enter into this world. Now is the time for the desires of your heart to be fulfilled, not for the sake of your own desires but for the sake of My glory and My Kingdom. Now is the time to express that which you so deeply want to express.
Let the fire within you build and let it come out to serve the people of this world as Jesus served the disciples as He washed their feet, showing them what true power looks like. Let this fire within you find outlets to serve the people around you in the way that I show you.
Explore what I am saying deeply. Come to Me in prayer and ask Me what I am telling you specifically. Yes, there are many things written about living a life of purpose and they provide many valuable generalities but until it becomes specific to you and what I have uniquely placed within you, you will not find the path you so desperately seek.
Prayer:
Lord, for many years I have wanted to _______. I believe it is a desire You have placed in my heart and it has been burning like a coal for a long time. Please give me the faith to believe Your word this day and believe that You are fanning it to a flame. Help me let go of all the previous times when I tried to bring something to light around this, but it did not work. Help me realize that the timing was simply not right, and it was not that You do not want this for me. Lord, may I serve those around me, may I be fully taken care of in the process, and may You be glorified as this fire within me is no longer held back.
Amen.
