John 14:13 GWT “I will do anything you ask [the Father] in my name so that the Father will be given glory because of the Son.”
This is day 2 of a 5-day series in a very important and powerful section of verses. I encourage you to read all 5 because they all go together and build in power together.
When I say something, I really mean it.
I say here I will do anything you ask in My name.
Yesterday, however, you saw that it requires you believing in Jesus. This is key because when you believe in Jesus He and the Holy Spirit are able to form in you the desire to ask for the things of Me and of My Will and, of course, I am going to do anything that aligns with My Will but I love when you ask for things because you put your own “flavor” and desire into My Will.
It is like when you are writing a story with a friend and you each write one sentence and then pass it on to the other person for the next sentence. You are both moving toward accomplishing the same thing…writing a story, but the story is flavored with both of you.
When you believe in Me…truly believe in Me…then we are both moving toward accomplishing the same thing…My Will…but the way we do it is flavored with both of us rather than just Me. This is the difference between being a slave and being My child. A slave simply has to do what it is told to do. A child gets to participate more actively.

Prayer: Lord I would very much appreciate your help recognizing my identity in You so that I can believe this verse and so I can ask for good things. I ultimately pray that Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10) and I would love to participate in this and, of course, will need your help and guidance and friendship all along the way.
