John 14:15 GWT “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.”
This is day 4 of a 5-day series in a very important and powerful section of verses. I encourage you to read all 5 because they all go together and build in power together.
This is where this series gets real. What I have shared in the previous 3 verses is really powerful and is so much what many people want, however, there is one really important thing for you to do in order to experience this verse…obey My commandments.
Why do I emphasize this?
Because My commandments are there for the good of you and other people. I do not have random commandments that I put into place in order to prove that I am superior or in charge. I do not ask you to do things just to prove I am more powerful than you are and I do not ask you to do things because I want to micromanage you or tell you what to do all the time. I give you commandments because they help you understand the reality of the world you live I (both physically and spiritually) and function within it the best way possible.
Also, when you obey My commandments, it shows that you are obeying the very most important commandment of all:
Mark 12:30 GWT “So love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
When you love Me, you simply obey My commandments because you love obeying My commandments. There is nothing you enjoy doing more than doing My Will and obeying Me because you know what it feels like and what the experience is like to flow in My Will. It is an awesome, wonderful, and glorious place to be.
Prayer:
Lord, please help Me love You even more than I already do!
