2 Kings 7:6 ESV “For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians hear the sound of chariots and of horses, the sound of a great army,”
Just like you did yesterday, imagine what this would have been like for the Israelites to realize what was going on and to see Me powerfully protect them from their enemies. Imagine seeing a huge army set against you, an army so big that you simply have no way to defeat it. You know that if I do not step in and work My power on your behalf you are done for.
Then imagine, hearing a sound that you know is coming from Me. For you it is the sound of freedom, vindication, and My power and love for My people being displayed in miraculous ways…for your enemy it is a fearful sound.
Know that, if at any moment, they had turned to Me and laid down their own gods or their own sense of power I would have relented and I would have given them into the hands of the Israelites so that they, too, could have been My people but know that it was their choice to go up against the Israelites even though I gave them plenty of chances to make other decisions.
When you face an enemy, know that, in all cases, I am offering them a better life with Me but if they refuse this life I will protect you. This is how you can bless your enemies and pray for them (Matthew 5:44). You can pray that they would come to know Me so that they are no longer an enemy to either of us.
But don’t let anything come between the immense blessings I want to bestow on you. Pray for me to powerfully turn around every situation in your life, especially the impossible ones. Then walk with me as we work it all through and we deepen our relationship and the trust you have in Me. Living in trust and faith will come in handy as challenges arise – so know that I want to be involved in everything you experience and trust Me to do powerful things on your behalf.
