Daniel 6:23 NLT “Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God.”
Trusting in Me is a powerful thing.
Daniel trusted in Me so much that he “drew Me in” so close as to bring about a fierce protection of him that is available to everyone who would like to have a relationship with Me like this. It is available to you if you want!
Daniel did not care what the other people in Babylon were doing. He did not concern himself with the people who were plotting against him to destroy him, putting a law into place that was designed to have him killed. He did what he knew worked for him. He worshiped and prayed to his God three times a day. He did not change this behavior even when he knew of the risk of being killed for it.
As a result, the king saw a demonstration of My power demonstrated and it changed his entire outlook. At the same time, he was humbled because he realized that his desire to be the only “god” worshipped for 30 days was a foolish decree that almost cost the life of someone he clearly cared about (Daniel).
Daniels confidence and dedication to Me resulted in the king declaring this to his nation:
Daniel 6:26 NLT “For he is the living God, and he will endure forever. His kingdom will never be destroyed, and his rule will never end. He rescues and saves his people; he performs miraculous signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”
Is there anything in your life that is not going the way you desire? Are you changing your behavior with Me as a result of what other people might think or do?
It’s okay, just come back to Me and let’s have the relationship that is intended for us. Don’t let the plans of others or the concern of the plans of others get in the way of our relationship. Daniel didn’t make a scene about his worship of Me, he just kept doing what he was doing even though it was now against the law of the nation where he was exiled.
But, of course, My law prevailed.
You can trust Me. Do not be concerned about the apparent destruction that might be lurking around the corner. Come to Me, worship Me, spend time with Me and enjoy every single aspect of Me! I am a really wonderful God and you don’t have to keep Me at arms length in order to make sure you will be okay in this world. I am more powerful than any other.
