April 15 – Daily Message – 1 Corinthians 13:1

1 Corinthians 13:1 ESV “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal.”

Who is more likely to say something harsh or negative? Me, or the enemy?

Who is more likely to say something tough in order to help someone learn a lesson? Me, or the enemy?

Who is more likely to hold back loving someone when they do not deserve it? Me, or the enemy?

Who is more likely to speak “truth” out of harshness or hurt for the “good” of the person they are speaking to? Me, or the enemy?

Who is more likely to be vengeful and put someone in their place? Me, or the enemy?

Who is more likely to hold one’s tongue when they need to point something out that they think should be obvious to the person to whom they are speaking? Me, or the enemy?

Who is more likely to enforce all of My laws with anger, truth, and justice for all without looking at the root of the problem that is usually much harder to address? Me or the enemy?

Consequences for bad behavior happen naturally, it is the fruit of ones actions.

Most people know their deepest faults but have no idea how to change them and need to trust someone to help them make the change they deeply need.

Yes, I know there is a large discussion around truth and love.

Yes, I know that many believe that without harshness and “reality” that nothing will ever change.

Yes, I know that many people believe that if they do not enforce all of My laws it will impact the society as a whole.

But there is a bigger danger, a much bigger danger.

That danger is…if we do not love one another, then society as a whole is already destroyed.

It is much harder to love than it is to hate.

It is much harder to have patience then it is to “let someone have it”.

It is much easier to try to influence the deep sin someone commits by handling a surface issue. Do you think anyone actually wants to do the terrible things they are doing that are sin? Or do you think they do them because of evil influences (Romans 7:15, Ephesians 6:12).

Please continue reading tomorrow for I have much more to say about this topic!

I believe this is a message to us from God, written from His perspective – Sherri
